All of these are based on the concept of light absorption. ——Some tattoo pigments absorb certain wavelengths of light better than others. In order to provide effective tattoo removal treatment, you need to ensure that the laser wavelength you use is completely absorbed by the tattoo ink you are treating.

The working principle of tattoo removal is to decompose the tattoo ink particles in the skin. To achieve this, the laser generates pulses on the tattoo and directs light energy to the ink. The energy is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles and instantly shattered into tiny fragments.

Therefore, if your goal is to smash the ink in a red tattoo, you should not treat it with red light because it will reflect all the light without absorbing energy.
Common Wavelengths for Tattoo Removal The most widely used wavelengths for tattoo removal include 1064 nm, 532 nm, 694 nm and 755 nm. Each of these wavelengths can handle a specific set of tattoo ink colors:
Among these wavelengths, the most common ones are the wavelengths -1064 nm and 532 nm produced by Nd:YAG lasers.
Some laser companies provide laser machines that combine multiple laser wavelengths into a two-in-one or three-in-one system, such as Astanza duplication and Trinity. These systems are usually the first choice for serious practice because they allow for versatility of treatment and higher efficacy.
Nd:YAG laser | 1064 nm, 532 nm.
Nd:YAG laser can generate wavelengths of 1064 nm and 532 nm.
The wavelength of 1064 nm is very suitable for removing black or dark tattoos, because the light of this wavelength can be well absorbed by the black ink. Since the ink color most commonly used by tattoo artists is black, the wavelength of 1064 nm is the most commonly used laser wavelength for tattoo removal.
The wavelength of 532 nm is the most effective wavelength for red ink and other warm colors (including purple, orange, yellow, and brown). The wavelength of Nd:YAG is 1064 nm and 532 nm, and it can handle various colors of ink. Generally speaking, Nd:YAG laser can treat 90-95% of tattoos, because red and black are the most popular tattoo ink colors. The two Nd:YAG wavelengths are safe for all skin types and allow the most effective tattoo laser removal procedure.
Ruby Laser | 694 nm 694 nm.
Ruby laser wavelength is very suitable for removing blue-green ink, as well as cyan, turquoise and lemon green tones that are difficult to remove with Nd:YAG laser alone.
In addition to dealing with these rare tattoo colors, the 694 wavelength is also excellent in removing black ink.

Alexander Morphing Laser | 755 nm.
Similar to the 694 nm wavelength of the ruby laser, the 755 nm wavelength of the emerald laser is also an excellent complementary wavelength for processing green, blue and black inks.

There are some other wavelengths that can be used to remove tattoos-namely 585 nanometers and 650 nanometers. Although these wavelengths may also be good choices for removing blue and green inks, they cannot be produced at the same power as the other wavelengths mentioned in this article.
These wavelengths are produced by using dye-impregnated cell phone filters, which results in lower energy levels than directly produced by lasers. Installing a 585nm or 650nm dye mobile phone on the laser will make you mistakenly think that you have a useful tool for tattoo removal.
