The Bahrain Yacht Club, as a fully recognized Royal Yachting Association Training Centre, knows that as with any skilled sport, the ultimate level of proficiency often stems from having professional tuition at a young age. There are many levels of tuition available at the club for both children and adults, in a variety of crafts, all conducted by a qualified R.Y.A sailing instructor, which guarantees that the training will be of the highest international standard, with safety always being of paramount importance.

Training is available to all, regardless of age or ability. Children as young as seven are encouraged to learn boat handling techniques, safety and essential background knowledge. Lessons are usually conducted in the club bay, using small Optibat boats. As the child’s level of competence increases they progress to larger boats such as Toppers, which helps to build their ability and confidence. Adults can begin to learn in various boats,such as Lasers, Wayfarers and Hobies, depending on their preference within the sport. Sailing tuition has become very popular with schools and plays valuable role in their after school activity programmes.
